This weekend saw thirty six bowlers, local councilors and spectators flock to the centre to take part in an NHS Charity event sponsored by fellow Etherow IBC member, Gerry Thackery. The event, which saw teams of three battle it out on the rinks with 21 games taking place during the course of the day, raised a whopping £500 for the NHS.
Although the winning team, comprising of Mike Anderson, Gerry Thackery and Charlie Cooper were clearly very happy, everyone who attended said they really enjoyed the event and felt proud to be helping raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
Local Councillor Jacqueline Owen was kind enough to present the winners and the second place team, George Richards, Jamie Evans and Bill Fawley, with their prizes.
